Engine oil is one of the most crucial fluids in your Porsche, responsible for ensuring proper lubrication of the moving engine components. If the engine oil becomes contaminated, your engine can suffer serious damage, leading to breakdowns and costly repairs.

In some cases, the presence of metal shavings in your Porsche’s engine oil can indicate significant internal wear and make it unsafe to continue driving if the issue is not addressed promptly. At Solo Motorsports, located in Norcross, GA, our technicians often help drivers identify metal shavings in Porsche engine oil before more serious damage occurs.

4 Tips to Detect Metal Shavings in Engine Oil

The presence of metal shavings in your Porsche’s engine oil is a serious issue that should be identified early. Our team at Solo Motorsports recommends paying attention to the following warning signs.

1. Inspect the Oil Filter

One of the easiest ways to detect metal shavings is by inspecting the engine oil filter. The oil filter prevents contaminants from circulating through the engine. During an oil change, you or your technician can check the oil filter for shiny particles.

  • Small metallic flakes may indicate early engine wear.
  • A large amount of metal debris may signal internal engine damage.

While a very small amount of fine metallic material can sometimes be normal, a noticeable buildup of particles should be inspected by a professional.

2. Examine the Oil Drain Plug Magnet

Many Porsche oil drain plugs include a magnet designed to capture metal particles during engine operation. Checking this magnet during an oil change can help identify potential problems. If you notice the following, the engine should be inspected:

  • A heavy buildup of metal particles on the magnet.
  • Larger fragments of metal debris.
  • Thick metallic sludge.

If this type of buildup is present, it may indicate internal engine wear that should be diagnosed promptly.

3. Unusual Sounds From the Engine

Unusual engine noises can also indicate the presence of metal shavings circulating in the oil system. Drivers may notice:

  • A faint rattling sound while the engine is running.
  • Knocking noises coming from the engine.
  • Grinding sounds during acceleration.

These noises may suggest that metal particles are affecting internal engine components.

4. Inspect the Oil Pan

If significant engine wear is suspected, inspecting the oil pan can provide additional insight. Removing the oil pan allows technicians to check the bottom of the engine for debris.

Signs that indicate a problem include:

  • Metal shavings collected in the oil pan.
  • Sludge mixed with metallic particles.
  • Visible contamination in the oil.

If any of these signs are present, the engine should be inspected immediately to determine the source of the wear.

(And How Solo Motorsports Helps Protect Your Vehicle)

These 5 simple mistakes shorten Engine life. European vehicles like BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Volkswagen are engineered for performance and longevity. But their advanced design also means they require proper care, quality parts, and the right fluids.

At Solo Motorsports, we see many engine problems that are not caused by defects; but by avoidable mistakes. Over time, these issues can reduce performance, reliability, and engine life.

Below are five common mistakes European car owners make and how professional service helps prevent them.

Skipping or Delaying Oil Changes

European engines operate at higher temperatures and use tight internal tolerances. Clean, high-quality oil is essential for:

  • Engine lubrication

  • Heat control

  • Sludge prevention

  • Long-term engine protection

Delaying oil changes can lead to:

  • Premature engine wear

  • Oil sludge buildup

  • Expensive internal engine damage

At Solo Motorsports, we use Motul full-synthetic engine oils that meet or exceed factory specifications. Motul oils are designed to handle high heat, protect internal components, and maintain engine health; especially in European vehicles.

Using the correct oil and service interval is one of the most important ways to avoid shortened engine life.

Ignoring Warning Lights and Early Symptoms

Modern European vehicles are equipped with advanced monitoring systems that alert drivers when something is wrong.

Common warning signs include:

  • Check engine lights

  • Reduced power messages

  • Rough idle or misfires

  • Unusual engine noises

Ignoring these symptoms often turns small issues into major engine repairs. Early diagnosis helps prevent:

  • Engine damage

  • Poor fuel efficiency

  • Costly breakdowns

Solo Motorsports uses factory-level diagnostic equipment to accurately identify problems and fix them before they cause long-term damage.

Using Cheap or Non-Factory Replacement Parts

European engines are designed to work with precise factory-specified components. Using cheap or incorrect parts can cause:

  • Improper fitment

  • Poor engine performance

  • Warning lights

  • Shortened engine life

At Solo Motorsports, we prioritize factory replacement parts or OEM-equivalent components whenever possible. These parts are designed to meet manufacturer standards for:

  • Durability

  • Performance

  • Engine protection

Cutting corners on parts may save money upfront, but it often leads to higher repair costs later.

Modifying Without Proper Supporting Upgrades

European cars respond well to performance modifications, but problems happen when upgrades are done without supporting components.

Common mistakes include:

  • Tuning without improving cooling

  • Increasing power without strengthening supporting systems

  • Ignoring drivetrain and engine limits

At Solo Motorsports, we help customers plan modifications responsibly by recommending:

  • Proper cooling upgrades

  • Supporting hardware

  • Safe, balanced tuning strategies

This approach helps protect the engine while improving performance and drivability.

Skipping Preventive Maintenance Services

Waiting until something fails is one of the fastest ways to shorten engine life.

Preventive maintenance includes:

  • Regular inspections

  • Fluid services using correct specifications

  • Addressing leaks and wear early

  • Replacing aging components before failure

Solo Motorsports follows manufacturer-recommended service guidelines and uses Motul fluids for engine oil, transmission fluid, and other vital systems to help protect vehicles long term.

Preventive maintenance:

  • Extends engine life

  • Improves reliability

  • Reduces long-term ownership costs

Why Quality Parts and Fluids Matter

European engines depend on proper lubrication, cooling, and precise tolerances. Using factory replacement parts and premium fluids like Motul ensures:

  • Better engine protection

  • Consistent performance

  • Reduced wear

  • Longer engine life

This is why Solo Motorsports does not cut corners when servicing European vehicles.

Final Thoughts

Most European engine failures are not caused by bad engineering; but by poor maintenance decisions, low-quality parts, and delayed service.

Avoiding these five mistakes can help:

  • Extend engine life

  • Protect performance

  • Maintain reliability

  • Preserve long-term vehicle value

At Solo Motorsports, we specialize in maintaining and protecting European vehicles using factory replacement parts, Motul fluids, and proven service practices.

If you want your BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, or Volkswagen to last, quality service matters.

When you invest in a European vehicle be it a BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, or Porsche, you aren’t just buying a mode of transportation. You are buying a masterpiece of precision engineering. These cars are designed with tighter tolerances, higher operating temperatures, and advanced emissions systems that set them apart from standard domestic models. We’ll explain why your European car needs Motul Fluids

Because these machines are so finely tuned, the “blood” running through them, the engine oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid must meet exacting standards. While it might be tempting to save $30 at your next oil change by opting for a generic “full synthetic” brand, that choice could cost you thousands of dollars in repairs down the road.

Here is why quality fluids like Motul are essential for your European ride, and the risks of taking the “cheap” route.

1. The European Difference: Heat and Tolerances

European engines are often smaller but more powerful than their American counterparts, frequently utilizing turbochargers to deliver high performance. This creates an environment of extreme heat and pressure.

  • Tighter Clearances: Parts in a European engine move with incredible precision. High-quality oils like Motul 8100 or 300 LS series are formulated to maintain a consistent lubricating film even at high temperatures, ensuring metal-to-metal contact never occurs.
  • Turbocharger Protection: Turbos can spin at over 200,000 RPM. Cheap oil can “cook” (oxidize) inside the turbo’s bearings when you shut the engine off, leading to carbon deposits that eventually starve the turbo of oil and cause total failure.

2. Protecting Sensitive Emissions Systems

Modern European cars use sophisticated after-treatment systems, such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and Three-Way Catalytic Converters.

Generic oils often contain high levels of SAPS (Sulfated Ash, Phosphorus, and Sulfur). While these additives protect older engines, they are “poison” to modern European exhaust systems. Motul’s specialized low-SAPS formulas ensure your emissions components remain clean, preventing the dreaded “limp mode” and avoiding $3,000+ replacement costs for a clogged DPF.

3. The Hidden Cost of “Cheap” Fluids

Using substandard fluids is a classic example of “penny wise, pound foolish.” Here is what often happens when you use generic or non-approved fluids:

Issue Cause Long-Term Consequence
Sludge Build-up Cheap oil breaks down faster under heat. Clogged oil passages and engine seizure.
Timing Chain Wear Lack of specific anti-wear additives. “Stretched” chains leading to catastrophic engine timing failure.
Seal Degradation Incompatible chemical bases in cheap fluids. Persistent oil leaks from gaskets and O-rings.
Transmission Shudder Generic ATF lacking correct friction modifiers. Rough shifting and eventually a total gearbox rebuild.

4. Why Motul?

Motul has been a pioneer in synthetic technology since 1971, when they launched the first 100% synthetic oil (300V) using Ester technology. Unlike many “full synthetic” oils that are actually highly processed mineral oils (Group III), Motul utilizes high-end Group IV and V base stocks.

Expert Tip: Motul doesn’t just “fit” European cars; they carry official OEM Approvals. When you see “BMW LL-01” or “Mercedes-Benz 229.5” on a bottle of Motul, it means the car manufacturer has tested and verified that specific fluid for your engine.

5. Solo Motorsports: Your Local Motul Experts

You don’t have to guess which fluid is right for your car. As an Authorized Motul Retailer, Solo Motorsports carries the exact oils, brake fluids, and coolants your car needs. Our team knows European cars inside and out, and we use Motul to ensure your vehicle runs perfectly for years to come.

Conclusion: Respect the Engineering

Your European vehicle was engineered to provide a specific driving experience, but that performance relies entirely on the quality of its maintenance. By choosing a premium brand like Motul, you aren’t just performing an oil change; you are insuring your engine against premature wear and expensive failures.

Don’t settle for “good enough” when your car was built for “the best.”

German engineered vehicles like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz, are celebrated worldwide for their precision, performance, and luxury. But every owner knows that maintaining this level of engineering excellence can come with a premium price tag. Understanding the typical costs and knowing where to get the best value for your maintenance and repairs is key to enjoying your German auto ownership experience. That’s why you should only trust a true German Auto Repair Specialist.

The Reality of German Car Maintenance Costs

It’s a common consensus: German luxury cars often have higher maintenance and repair costs than many domestic or Asian-made vehicles. This is generally due to a few key factors:

  • Complex Engineering: German vehicles are packed with advanced technology and sophisticated systems. This complexity means that diagnoses and repairs require specialized training and tools, driving up labor costs.
  • Parts Cost: Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts for German makes are typically more expensive. While quality aftermarket options exist, the preference for high-quality, specialized components often increases the overall bill.
  • Labor Rates: Dealerships and even specialized independent shops invest heavily in manufacturer-specific tools and training, which is reflected in their labor rates. In some regions, labor costs for specialty European auto repair can be quite high.

However, the good news is that by choosing the right service provider and sticking to a proactive maintenance schedule, you can significantly mitigate these costs. This is where an independent specialist like Solo Motorsports comes into play.

🏆 Solo Motorsports vs. The Dealership: The Clear Advantages

When it’s time for routine service or a major repair, many German auto owners default to the dealership. But a specialist shop like Solo Motorsports offers compelling advantages that often result in better service and greater value.

1. Cost Savings & Pricing Transparency

The most immediate benefit is the cost advantage. Dealerships have massive overhead, large facilities, extensive administrative staff, and corporate mandates; all of which contribute to higher labor rates.

  • Lower Labor Rates: Independent shops typically have lower operational costs, allowing them to charge significantly less for labor than a dealership.
  • Part Flexibility: While Solo Motorsports is committed to using high-quality parts, they can often provide you with options; including high-quality aftermarket parts that meet or exceed OEM standards, giving you control over your budget. Dealerships are often restricted to using only OEM parts, which are pricier.

2. Specialized Expertise & Focus

Don’t let the dealership tell you they’re the only ones with the know-how. The best independent German auto specialists are often founded and staffed by ASE-certified and factory-trained technicians; many of whom have left the dealership environment.

  • Dedicated Focus: Shops like Solo Motorsports focus exclusively on a few select German makes (BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, etc.). This deep specialization means their technicians are constantly working on the same platforms, making them masters of specific vehicle idiosyncrasies and common issues.
  • Access to Tools: Reputable independent shops invest in the same diagnostic equipment and specialized tools as the dealership to handle modern, computer-driven German vehicles.

3. Personalized Service & Relationship Building

At a high-volume dealership, you’re often just a ticket number. You speak to a service advisor who then communicates with a mechanic you never meet.

  • Direct Communication: At an independent shop, you often get to speak directly with the technician or the owner who is personally overseeing the work. This fosters a relationship of trust and allows for clearer, more honest communication about your car’s needs.
  • Focus on Long-Term Care: Independent specialists rely on local reputation and customer loyalty. Their goal is to keep your car running reliably for years, not just push the most expensive service package. They are often more flexible and willing to work with your budget and priorities to find the best long-term solution.

4. Quicker Turnaround Times

Dealership service bays are often backlogged with high volumes of warranty work and routine maintenance.

  • Streamlined Process: Independent shops typically operate with less bureaucracy and are more agile. They can often get your car scheduled and repaired faster, minimizing your downtime.

The Verdict: The Smart Choice is Clear

While the complex engineering of a German luxury car demands expert attention, that expertise doesn’t have to come with a prohibitive price tag or an impersonal service experience.

Choosing an independent specialist like Solo Motorsports offers the perfect balance: factory-level knowledge and equipment combined with competitive pricing and truly personalized customer care. It’s the smarter, more economical, and often more satisfying choice for keeping your German machine running at its peak performance.

Ready to experience the independent specialist difference?

Wheel alignment plays a crucial role in the smooth operation and better performance of your Porsche. In fact, the mind-blowing performance of your Porsche and its stable handling depend heavily on the car’s accurate wheel alignment. However, over the years, as your Porsche accumulates miles, the wheel alignment tends to go haywire, and Porsche owners may experience improper wheel alignment in their high-end cars. Besides that, wheel alignment issues in your Porsche can compromise your car’s safety. In this article, we will discuss ways to detect and fix Porsche wheel alignment problems for the residents of Duluth, Georgia.

Ways To Detect and Fix Wheel Alignment Problems

At Solo Motorsports, located near you in Duluth, GA, we have observed that Porsche displays certain signs when the wheel alignment is out of sync. In fact, Porsche owners who can detect wheel alignment problems quickly can save their luxury cars from major damage.

Solo Motorsports Wheel Alignment Review

Improper Tire Wear Patterns

One of the most common problems associated with damaged wheel alignment in a Porsche is when you get to witness uneven tire wear patterns in your high-end car. Tire tread wear should be even throughout; however, when the wheels are completely misaligned, you will notice an uneven tire wear pattern on your Porsche.

Moreover, the problem is easy to detect: just inspect your tires regularly, and if you notice an uneven wear pattern, you have wheel alignment problems that need to be addressed immediately. In addition to that, if you find that the inside or outside edge of the tires is wearing out faster in comparison to the rest of the tread, then the problem lies with the camber of your Porsche. You should get in touch with us at Solo Motorsports, located in Duluth, GA, to have your Porsche wheel alignment problem fixed.

Car Drifting or Pulling to One Side

Generally, when driving under normal circumstances, your vehicle always moves straight on a flat road surface. Nevertheless, when there are underlying problems with the wheel alignment of your high-end car, you will find that as you loosen your grip over the steering wheel, your Porsche will start drifting or pulling to one side. This is a common issue with wheel alignment in Porsche, and the moment you notice sudden pulling to one side, you must contact our auto repair shop in Duluth, GA, to have our certified technicians address your alignment issues.

Moreover, the angle of your caster also influences the way your steering wheel functions because an inaccurate angle leads to the steering wheel becoming unstable, and the wheel’s self-centering ability goes for a toss. Most of the time, excess toe-in or toe-out can lead to this situation, which must be rectified immediately.

Vibrations in the Steering Wheel

Whenever the wheels in your Porsche are out of alignment, the tires tend to drag on the road surface, and this is when you get to experience vibrations in the steering wheel of your car. The vibrations are also felt in your Porsche’s tires and need to be addressed quickly. At times, the vibrations might also be caused by uneven tire wear patterns, which in turn point to misaligned wheels for a longer duration. You must reach out to us at our auto repair shop, where our team of certified mechanics will perform a professional alignment check and address your alignment issues.

ADAS Warning Light

Nowadays, all modern cars, including your Porsche, come equipped with advanced features that make driving them a thrilling experience. The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is one such feature in your Porsche that helps with lane-keeping and stability control. If you have a wheel misalignment issue in your Porsche, the warning light will trigger, and the ADAS feature will malfunction. That is why recalibrating your ADAS system after fixing the wheel alignment problem is a must in your Porsche.

If your Porsche does not accelerate smoothly, or you have noticed that there is a lack of power, or that the car does not feel as responsive as before, then it may be time to rebuild the engine. A proper engine rebuild will return the lost power, increase reliability, and oftentimes make your Porsche perform better than it used to. If you desire to bring your Porsche engine back to life and ensure that it performs to the best of its capacities, an expert engine rebuild might just be the most valuable investment that you can make. Let’s see the signs that you need a Expert Engine Rebuild in Atlanta.

What Is An Engine Rebuild?

Engine rebuilding is a process in which a mechanic has to dismantle the engine and after inspecting each part he/she replaces the worn or damaged one. In the process of rebuilding, new pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets and seals are put in the engine. Sometimes, the cylinder walls must be honed or re-bored and the crankshaft or the camshaft may require resurfacing or replacement. Each component of the car is checked thoroughly to make sure that it is up to the level of performance that your Porsche deserves.

When all the parts that need to be replaced or refurbished have been done, the whole engine is put back together in a very professional manner as it was manufactured in the factory. This helps in ensuring that all the tolerance, clearances and timing components are well aligned so your Porsche engine runs efficiently.

Signs That Your Porsche Might Need an Expert Engine Rebuild

  • Reduced Power and Acceleration: If your Porsche car is not as powerful as it used to be or idling roughly, chances are that the internal parts of your engine are worn out. A rebuild can regain that power and make the car as fun to drive as you anticipated it would be.
  • Excessive Oil Consumption or Smoke from the Exhaust: The blue smoke that comes out from the exhaust is indicative of worn piston rings or valve seals. A rebuild also fixes these worn parts that may allow oil leakage and enhance the efficiency of the engine.
  • Knocking or Ticking Sounds: Any unusual sound like knocks or ticks while the engine is running could point towards worn bearings, damaged piston or failing of valve parts. Some of these sounds, if not attended to, can lead to a major engine breakdown; therefore, anything out of the ordinary should be addressed immediately.
  • Frequent Overheating Issues: If your Porsche continues to overheat even after the thermostat or other cooling system components have been changed then there might be internal problems with the engine. Worn cylinder heads or damaged head gasket may lead to overheating and these challenges can be fixed by a rebuild.

How to Maintain Your Porsche’s Engine After a Rebuild

  • Proper Break-In: Anytime an engine is rebuilt, it is advisable to follow a break-in process to allow all components to settle or seat themselves properly. This usually entails driving carefully for the initial 500 to 1,000 miles and avoiding high RPMs or loads on the engine.
  • Change the Oil Frequently: Since the engine is newly rebuilt, it is recommended that high-quality oil be used to safeguard the new parts. Use only synthetic oil recommended by Porsche and adhere to the recommended oil change schedule for optimal performance.
  • Keep an Eye on Engine Performance and Take It for Periodic Tune-Ups: Even after a rebuild, the engine still needs continued care and maintenance. Always check the amount of oil that is remaining, the temperature of the engine and any strange sounds that may be emanating from your vehicle. It is also important to take your Porsche for a routine check to ensure that any small problem that may be developing is detected and rectified before it becomes a big issue.

Have you noticed a change in how your Porsche feels when changing gears? Has your smooth shifting suddenly become rigid and clunky? Does the clutch feel soft or spongy when you engage it? If so, you might be dealing with a faulty clutch slave cylinder. The slave cylinder works alongside the master cylinder to manage the movement of the hydraulic clutch system.

When you step on the clutch pedal, hydraulic fluid is pushed from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder. This change in pressure activates the clutch release bearing, disengaging the clutch so that you can easily and smoothly shift gears. If the clutch slave cylinder malfunctions, it can become more difficult or take longer to shift gears, or make it impossible to even shift at all.

Symptoms of a Failing Clutch Slave Cylinder

  • Spongy Clutch Pedal: A soft or spongy feel in the clutch pedal can be one of the first signs of a faulty clutch slave cylinder. If the pedal feels too easy to press, or it doesn’t return to its normal position, then there may be insufficient hydraulic pressure in the cylinder. This can be because of a leak or other internal failure in the cylinder.
  • Shifting Problem: A damaged slave cylinder can also make it hard to shift gears. You may experience more difficulty while shifting to the next gear, or the clutch may not engage at all. If you’re having issues shifting gears, have the clutch system checked right away to prevent further complications.

Other symptoms include fluid leaks or squeaking noises every time you push in the clutch pedal.

What Are The Main Reasons for Slave Cylinder Failure?

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Every part experiences wear and tear, and clutch slave cylinder is no exception. Over many miles of frequent use, the seals and internal components of the hydraulic unit wear, causing leaks and reducing hydraulic pressure.
  • Air in the Hydraulic System: If air gets into the hydraulic system, the clutch is not able to engage properly because the pockets of air interrupt the flow of the hydraulic fluid, making the clutch feel weak or unresponsive. Air can enter when there is a fluid leak or after poor maintenance has been done.
  • Contaminated Brake Fluid: The clutch system needs clean fluid for the clutch to function effectively. If the fluid becomes dirty or contaminated, it can damage the seals within the slave cylinder, leading to leakage and eventual failure.

Repairing a Damaged Clutch Slave Cylinder

  • Diagnosis: If your Porsche is experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above, you should have a professional technician inspect your clutch system. A mechanic will check for any signs of leakage, perform a pressure check, and inspect the slave cylinder for any signs of wear and tear.
  • Replacing the Clutch Slave Cylinder: If the clutch slave cylinder is damaged or leaking, then the only solution is to have it replaced. When replacing the old cylinder, you should also have the fluid in the hydraulic system replaced to ensure optimal performance.
  • Bleeding the Hydraulic System: It is also a good idea to ‘bleed’ the hydraulic system after replacing the slave cylinder. This will remove any air bubbles in the system and ensure that the new component functions as it should.

Get Professional Clutch Repairs for Your Porsche

A faulty clutch slave cylinder can Porsche Car In Our Garage For Repair cascade into larger problems, making it dangerous to drive. That’s why it is highly recommended that you have it replaced as soon as possible to keep you safe and your car running better for longer. God Arrow Of Righteous Speed

Today the Porsche gods smiled upon us as our client and friend Alen decided to stop by to get some new brake pads on his unicorn 930 😍

When he first pulled up we were in awe. This man has chutzpah to own one of the most understated porsche beauties. One does not simply jump into a *rare* classic slantnose and get right to driving it aggressively, especially a 1 out of 144, restomod 1987 Slantnose 930. This car was designed in an era when everything was about being sexy, Harry Hamlin was named the most handsome man alive and every woman wanted to be just like Madonna. Let’s be real, life was a party and the good times were never going to end.

This car has been given magical powers. It filled us with energy the moment it showed up, spoke to us like a friend known for years though we’d only just met and best of all it retained some mystery throughout, and we’re glad we are a part of keeping this beauty alive.

SUPERSONIc //

There is no reason why everyone should own a Porsche one time in their lives. June heard it. A howl from beyond. His need for a Porsche in his life is this immaculate V8 speed machine, a thunderbolt from a future past.

As you can see, the 928 is one of the more early body style cars, when its lines were the cleanest and the sharpest. The earlier American models only made about 219 horsepower from their 4.5-liter V8s, but that’s more than enough for a car weighing only a couple hundred pounds up from 3,000.

The Porsche 928 is a pretty incredible car for a lot of reasons, most of which revolve around the fact that it’s the only well-respected serious sports car with rear sun visors (heard me right, they’re sun visors, in the BACK that was and still a cool thing!!) But that’s not what I’m talking about today. Our client & great friend June brought in his beautiful Porsche 928 for a full restoration from us.. I mean total engine rebuild, suspension overhaul, headers, interior, transmission rebuild, wheels & tires + one SUPER awesome detail that we think is totally BADASS.

Enter: Jetronic Supercharger

June likes power, but who the hell doesn’t. we selected this STG2 Supercharger Kit from 928 Motorsports which includes a complete air-to-water intercooler system for higher boost and greater output. This Supercharger will add about 130 safe, reliable HP to this 16v motor

  • 928 Motorsports Billet Aluminum Anodized Crankshaft Pulley
  • 928 Motorsports Cold Air Intake System
  • 928 Motorsports Intake Elbow to MAF System
  • 928 Motorsports Supercharger Mounting brackets
  • 928M Bosch Blow-off Valve
  • Idler/Tensioner Pulley Assembly
  • K&N Air Filter

Upgrades

We didn’t stop at the supercharger with this restoration, alongside the supercharger we installed / restored the following

–  Rebuild & Resealed Engine

-New Cams, Spark Plugs, Ignition Coils

-New Control Arms all around

-Custom Performance Headers & Y Pipe

-Total Transmission Overhaul

-New Camshaft Housing

-Completely custom Exhaust system

-Custom Exhaust Manifold

-Fuel Rails

– 3 Piece Rotiform “Dials” Wheels

Here at SoloMotorsports, we’re no strangers to modding Porsches, but we had the pleasure to work on this 95B Macan S, Porsche’s delicious blend of classic 911 DNA with the size of the Cayenne, resulting in a crossover that looks like nothing else yet distinctly screams IM A FRIGGIN PORSCHE!

As Dr Porsche once said, you should always be able to look at the car and tell it’s a Porsche. However, the factory ride height is so annoyingly high with the models that don’t boast pneumatic suspensions, it’s as if they thought the prospective buyers all planned on going Baja racing, giving the Macan S a silly amount of wheelgap. That’s why it’s here to see the Solo Experts to eliminate the unnessecary gappage in the wheel well you can easily do push-ups in!

Porsche-Macan-S-H&R-Springs
Before: Hiked higher than your pappy’s britches.
Porsche-Macan-S-H&R-Springs
These H&R Sport springs dropped our Macan S by a healthy 1.5in both front and rear to make a significant change in its appearance and sharpen its handling, too. What’s more, these won’t lower the Macan so much as to “slam” it or render it impractical. Demonstrated in the gallery below is the ‘before, during and after” process.
On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs On The Down Low: Macan S x H&R Sport Lowering Springs
We didn’t even need to take the car outside before the difference was noticeable – the change was clear right off the lift. The drop in ride height really makes the Macan look as it was intended to, a sporty, fun option for when you can’t take a 911 and a Cayenne is just too darn big.

The simple addition of a set of lowering springs has made a huge difference in the aesthetic of this Macan S, giving it the sportier character you’d expect of a Porsche S model visually as well as its handling capability while taking nothing away from its usability.

If you’re still driving around at factory ride height, consider lowering your suspension – a lower slung look enhances your aesthetics and lowers your center of gravity, making any set of wheels look better and even otherwise stock vehicles look sharper.

Porsche 911/991.1 GT3 RS

The standard the most sports car manufacturers take notes are Porsche 911s. This model is the most uncivil of all 911s. Lightweight version of the track-ready Porsche GT3 allows you to further bond with the road. We installed Dundon Motorsports Headers and Exhaust and later strapped the car to the Dyno to measure Exhaust system power output gains. The car gained additional 8wtq at 310wtq and gained 16whp at 429whp.

1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabrio 16V

So often do you see one of these around? Not very often, this particular one was sitting and collecting dust for years, before it was dug out and checked in at Solo Motorsports for little attention!

Produced between 1989-1991 only just shy of 2500 were imported to the US. This car is rare. During year 1989 only 16 were sent to US and following year 1824. Last year of production only imported 562 vehicles.

We started everywhere at once, the car needed everything at once as well. Filters, Fluids, Hoses, Lines, Brakes, Suspension, Tires, Electrical, Gaskets, and various other parts and conponens were replaced to ensure this car is at the top condition for many years to come. This car is only harder and harder to see, here at Solo Motorsports we admire helping to keep your beloved car maintained, safe, and preserved.
